The Petroleum Regulatory Agency, (PRA), has commissioned an ultramodern filling station at Sumbuya, Kaffu Bullom in Portloko district.

Representing the  Executive Chairman of PRA, Dr Brima Baluwa Koroma,  the Head of Compliance and Standards Jayah K. Muana said that when the Executive Chairman of PRA took over, he promised His Excellency the President, Dr Julius Maada Bio and the people of Sierra Leone to bring fairness, transparency, and to open up the downstream sector to make it investment friendly. This he said has been realized as new stations are now coming up in different parts of the country.

Mr. Muana emphasized the need for the expansion of the industry while underscoring the mandate of the Agency which is to license and regulate the downstream sector and to curb energy poverty by ensuring the availability of products to hard-to-reach places.

“The work of the Agency is to ensure the availability of products across the country. We have 

38 filling stations in Portloko and ten in Lungi but the designs of Malador Associate are outstanding and standard.

I therefore called on you all to protect this filling station as your property because it is meant to serve you all, boost the economy and provide jobs.” he said.

The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Reverend Sesay Jones commended Malador Associate for taking the initiative to establish a brand new station in Sumbuya.

Reverend Jones assured the company of government government’s unflinchingnt’s unflinching support to expand the sector.

Conex Marketing Manager, Bernard Sesay, thanked Malador Associate for being a strategic partner to their company, adding that Malador Associate is investing in the sector.

“We didn’t see you as a competitor but a partner and therefore we will continue to support each other,” he said.

Alieu Malador CEO Malador Associate, commended the Petroleum Regulatory Agency for giving the necessary support for them to expand their operation.

He called on the Government to lend a lending hand to Conex as they believe they are in the industry to make a difference.

The Paramount Chief of Kaffu Bullom, Bai Shebora Gbere, called on the people to take ownership of the station as it will serve the entire region.
